  77.    Here's the second QRP project taken from 101 EASY HAM RADIO PROJECTS,
  78. by Robert Brown and Tom Kneitel; again, since the book is out of print,
  79. I assume there will be no copyright problems...
  80.    This project is a simple 20 meter CW xmtr with output about 100 mw (?).
  81. Here are the authors' comments:
  82.    "If you have always wanted to try low-power on 20 meters, here is an
  83. excellent method for joining the growing ranks of flea-power addicts -
  84. and doing it inexpensively. This circuit is capable of world-wide QSO's,
  85. given the right conditions and assuming QRM is not present.
  86.    "The transmitter uses a pair of GE-1 universal replacement transistors
  87. in a unique circuit configuration a great more sophisticated than you
  88. would normally expect for an under-one-watt rig. Crystal can be a
  89. fundamental 14-mHz type.
  90.    "L1 should be adjusted for sure-fire oscillation every time the
  91. key is depressed. C4 is simply adjusted for maximum output on the FSM."

  224. ftp.std.com but no joy.  I was wondering about any potential chinks
  225. in its armor that might shy me away from it. I was hoping for

  247. Here's another question regarding my DJ-580. I take this rig with me on the car, and 
  248. I didn't use any mobil antenna. But the reception didn't even hurt for a little bit.
  249. The sound still clear and loud. I wonder if I transmit without using the mobil antenna,
  250. will it be effect by the car? Will the range being cutting off by the car body? ( I did
  251. it when window was closed.)
  252. If the answer is no, then why people want to install the mobil antenna? What I thought
  253. was ham use 2m repeater all the time, so the transmit power is not a big concern. As
  254. long as the power is enough to reach repeater. It doesn't make sense to get a 100W 
  255. transmitter or a full length antenna. Am I right?
  256. The other question I have is how to get autopatch access code for public repeater?
  257. Any answer will be appreciated!!!

  271. A few years ago I saw an ad from a small outfit in Texas that was
  272. producing some FM ATV transceivers for 900 and 1200 MHz.  They
  273. had a neat 70 MHz IF that went between the tower mounted transceiver
  274. and a control box/mod/demod in the shack.  The transceivers were
  275. even synthesized...
  276.  
  277. I can't remember the name of this outfit.  Does anyone know and if
  278. so are they still around ?
  279.  
  280. I'm also interested in any other sources of FM ATV gear for 1200 MHz...

  394. It's a 2-meter handi-talkie, .5 or 3 watts out, 10 memories, standard splits
  395. only, except for the tenth channel, which can be used as a transmit freq.   
  396. Does simplex, +600kHz, -600kHz, and Memory (channel 10).  Uses the BP25 
  397. battery pack, eats battery packs about every 3 years, weighs half a ton, and
  398. is probably about 10-12 years old.  Has memory scan or range/increment scan
  399. capabilities, seems to be pretty immune to intermod.

  401. I have two of them and like them both...
  402.  
  403. I have a couple of mobile docking stations which I use with a 25 watt amplifier
  404. and an external antenna in the cars, then switch to the ducky for belt/handheld
  405. use.
